Standing strong together for Canada |
As March arrives and we look ahead to start of spring, we’re reminded of renewal, resilience, and strength found in our communities. In times of uncertainty, one thing remains steadfast – the dedication of our Legion members. It’s thanks to your support that we can continue to honour and support Veterans, preserve the memories of those who served, and strengthen our communities. |
Your commitment reflects the best of Canadian pride: coming together as one to make a difference. Whether it’s advocating for Veterans, supporting military families, or upholding the spirit of Remembrance, your efforts matter. Let’s continue to stand strong together. |

Lowering our flags in honour of Vimy Ridge |
On April 9, 2025, The Royal Canadian Legion’s 1,350 Branches will lower our flags to half-mast in remembrance of those who fell during the Battle of Vimy Ridge. This marks the 108th anniversary of the pivotal 1917 battle, where more than 3,500 Canadians lost their lives and nearly 7,000 were wounded. The victory at Vimy Ridge was a significant turning point in the First World War. |
The Canadian National Vimy Memorial, which stands on land ceded to Canada by France in 1922, now serves as a place of solemn reflection and gratitude for all who served in the First World War. |

Showing support for military children |
April is Canada’s Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize the resilience and sacrifices of children in military families. These young individuals face unique challenges, from frequent relocations to enduring parental deployments. |
Military families are an essential part of our community. Let’s come together this April to celebrate military children for their incredible courage to ensure they feel seen and appreciated. |
In collaboration with the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR), The Royal Canadian Legion, and Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) are proud to announce the launch of the first four online storybooks in a new series. These include a special narration by Canadian Armed Forces Veteran and retired astronaut Chris Hadfield, designed to help keep children from Military, Veteran, and public safety personnel families build strength and coping skills. |
